What are the causes of subluxation? Subluxations occur when your body receives physical, chemical or emotional stress that it cannot adapt to.
Ø Causes of subluxations can be physical instances such as motor vehicle accidents (MVAs), work injuries, falls, sudden shock, or other traumas. Regular actions such as improper sleeping position, poor posture, or incorrect lifting processes can also be an underlying cause.
Ø  Certain foods, drugs and other chemical substances may also react with your body and result in spinal misalignment. Water deficiency and poor diet also often lead to spinal dysfunction, causing negative chemical imbalance in your nerves.
Ø  Emotional Stress and other emotional triggers can also affect the functioning of your spine. Traffic jams, important deadlines, and family and marital problems, builds up the tension in our muscles and joints. If ignored, it may eventually lead to headaches, anxiety and spinal pain.
Whether it is physical, chemical or emotional stress, the outcome is undoubtedly negative when it is experienced by the nervous system. Whenever the nervous system is interfered with, the connection between the brain and body is impaired, causing malfunction to any cell, tissue or organ of the body.
Recap on Subluxation
Subluxation is a term used in the chiropractic field to describe spinal misalignment. When one of the vertebrae in your spine moves out of position, the spine creates pressure and stress on the spinal nerves, blood vessels, and surrounding muscles. This pressure and stress can cause an interference in the body’s normal processes as the nerves in the spinal column is connected to the entire body and its organs. When subluxation stays uncorrected for a long time, the damage to the nerve worsens and subluxation degeneration sets in.
